Got the OnePlus 5T? OnePlus 6 already rumoured with in-display fingerprint sensor
The report mentions the presence of an in-display fingerprint scanner alongwith Snapdragon 845.
When it comes to product lifecycle, OnePlus is known for revamping their flagship models within months. This year’s OnePlus 5 had barely seen 5 months of its existence and the company launched an upgraded OnePlus 5T with an 18:9 display. Generally, the ‘T’ models are believed to have the longest lifespan, as was seen with the OnePlus 3T. However, this trend is also about to change if we are to believe GizmoChina’s report. The OnePlus 6 is coming in March 2018.
The report mentions that the next major flagship offering from OnePlus will be launching early next year, by March. This could probably be done so as to compete with ultra-expensive Samsung Galaxy S9, which is also due during that time of the year. However, the rumour also mentions some of the highlighting features of the OP6.
The 2018 model is believed to be sporting an under-display fingerprint scanner, which will make it easier for users to access the phone. The 5T retained the sensor at the back despite sporting Face Unlock. The OnePlus 6 will bring the sensor back to the front and will probably use the recently unveiled Synaptics’ ClearID optical sensor. The smartphone, as expected, will also be powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset.
If you have just got yourself or are planning to get the OnePlus 5T, then don’t fret. These are still rumours and there might be a high chance that most of it will prove wrong. And even if all of it turns true, then the 5T is an extremely fast smartphone and shouldn’t be of much concern to those looking for ultra-fast performance.
