Countdown to the Galaxy Note 8 launch: What to expect? (Livestream link)

We have been going through numerous leaks of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 over the past few months and we already have a pretty fair idea of what the Note 8 could be shaping up to be. It’s been less than an hour before the successor to the infamous Galaxy Note 7 is unveiled and we round-up our expectations from the Korean giant’s next big smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is expected to sport a 6.3-inch curved Infinity Display, just like the Galaxy S8+. Rumours have also pointed towards a pressure-sensitive display like the iPhone 7 that should enhance the productivity of the S Pen.

The Note 8 is also expected to carry the Exynos 8895 octa-core chipset found in the Galaxy S8, which could be running at a higher clock speed to justify a possibly higher price tag. It should also come with 6GB RAM and come with three storage variants — 64/128/ 256GB variants.

Various leaks have also suggested the presence of dual-camera at the back, which is a first for a Samsung smartphone. We have to wait and see whether Samsung utilises the secondary camera for achieving higher optical zoom or higher detail levels through a monochrome sensor.

Apart from these, the Note is expected to come with Samsung’s proprietary Bixby smart assistant. It should run on Android Nougat 7.1 out-of-the-box. The Note 8 could start at Rs 77,000, which is higher than that of the most expensive Galaxy S8 variant. You can watch the live stream of the Note 8's launch here.
