Own Nexus 6P? New Android Update is causing battery issues

After Google's new update, a few Reddit users complained that the Nexus 6P shuts down itself.

It is free for all Nexus and Android One users and will be updated automatically by Google.

The Nexus 6P is last year’s Nexus smartphone designed by Huawei. However, a new report comes in where Nexus 6P users are complaining about a battery failure issue soon after updating to Android 7.0 Nougat. After people started reporting, Google was quick to fix the issue after the issues were reported. However, the battery problems still remained and many complained that the battery was draining too fast.

After Google’s new update, a few Reddit users complained that the Nexus 6P shuts down itself and cannot turn back on unless the phone is reset using the charger. Even a factory reset on the device seems to be unable to resolve the issue.

While the issue was reported by a few users, this is not the case with all Nexus 6P phones — it’s not a widespread problem. Google has been intimated about the issues and probably Google is working on a new update that could be soon rolled out.

If you are one of the users who have similar issues, we suggest you stay put till a new Android 7.0 Nougat update is released, or try roll back to an earlier operating system (Marshmallow) till the issue is reported resolved.
