OpenAI's ChatGPT is Now Available on WhatsApp
OpenAI has introduced its chatbot, ChatGPT, to WhatsApp, enabling users to directly message the chatbot for answers within the messaging platform.
The AI company said that the users in the United States and Canada can now talk to ChatGPT by calling 1800-242-8478. This works on flip phones as well as on landlines, said OpenAI. Users in the US and Canada will get 15 minutes per month of voice calling and this is on an experimental basis where in the future, availability and limits may change.
Other global users can send a message to the same number via WhatsApp.
“For a fuller experience with access to more features like search, higher limits, and greater personalization, existing users should continue using ChatGPT directly through their accounts,” OpenAI said.
According to Bloomberg, ChatGPT has 300 million weekly active users. This new option could expand the reach of OpenAI’s chatbot.
This announcement is part of OpenAI’s 12 days of ship-mas livestream. Earlier, it announced the launch of ChatGPT search, text-to-image model Sora and also rolled out a $200 per month ChatGPT Pro subscription.
