Woman suffers permanent hearing loss after Bluetooth earphone explodes in ear

The incident was reported in Samsung's Turkish community forum, a platform where users can report problems.

Explaining his ordeal the user claimed that he purchased the Galaxy Buds FE to pair with his Samsung flagship mobile device 'Galaxy S23 ultra'. "The new pair of earbuds were just taken out-of-the box and didn't even charge once," he said. It had 36 percent charging when taken out from the box.

The thrill of the new purchase very quickly turned into a tragedy as his girlfriend took the earbuds to try them. When the buds were in her ears, one of them exploded, causing permanent hearing damage to her.

However, the victim after approaching the company's service centre in Kemalpasa, Adana, didn't get the intended response. The staff who initially were empathetic later turned cold and just offered a replacement for the product, claimed reports. The staff even went on to advise him that he is free to take legal action.

The agitated customer however claimed that he has all the necessary proofs and medical records to prove the genuinity of the purchase and of the hearing loss.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time that devices from various companies have resulted in such tragedies, though not verified the incident draws fear among many bluetooth device users who expressed the same on social media sites.
