Tirupati Prepares For Grand Hanuman Jayanti Celebrations
TTD plans grand Hanuman Jayanti celebrations from June 1-5 in Tirumala with spiritual events, cultural programmes, and daily Abhishekam rituals
Tirupati: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has made elaborate arrangements to celebrate Hanuman Jayanti in a grand manner, commencing from June 1 to 5 at Anjanadri Akasa Ganga temple and Japali Theertham in Tirumala. A slew of spiritual events have been lined for the five-day festival.
Among the main events, the special Abhishekam to Sri Balanjaneya Swamy and Sri Anjana Devi at the Akasa Ganga temple will take place between 8:30am and 10am daily. The Abhishekam will be performed with jasmine flowers, betel leaves, red nerium and crossandra flowers, chrysanthemums, and vermilion. The chanting of Vedic hymns like Sahasra Namarchana of Sri Anjaneya during the Abhishekam, will be conducted by the priests.
At 10am every day, Avataraghatta Pravachanams (spiritual discourses) will be organised at Akasa Ganga. Besides, TTD’s Dasa Sahitya project will organize mass chanting of Hanuman Chalisa between 2pm and 3pm daily at Japali Theertham. Vedic scholars will deliver Pravachanams on the birth of Lord Hanuman and other related topics daily between 3pm and 4pm at the Nada Neerajanam podium.
A series of cultural programmes have also been planned for the Hanuman Jayanti celebrations. The religious events such as Harikatha Parayanam, renditions of Annamacharya Sankeertanas, Purandhara Dasa Sankeertans, and bhajans will also be organized for the occasion. Members of the Hindu Dharma Prachara Parishad and Harikatha performers will take part in the religious programmes. Students of the SV College of Music and Dance will also present dance programmes in the evening from 4pm to 5pm.
