Bilawal Bhutto's life at risk, says Pakistan government
The party performed badly other than the Sindh province.
Islamabad: The Pakistan government has warned that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chief Bilawal Bhutto’s life was in danger. Caretaker Interior Minister Mohammad Azam Khan said that notable politicians had apparent threats to their lives.
Bilawal Bhutto’s mother Benazir Bhutto was assassinated in 2007, allegedly by Taliban militants during Pervez Musharraf’s military regime. Later too the Taliban continued to threaten the PPP leadership but they managed to win the 2008 polls. In 2013, the PPP was threatened to such an extent that the top leaders hardly moved to mobilise workers for the general election. The party performed badly other than the Sindh province.
Bilawal Bhutto has launched a campaign for his party’s revival in the July 25 polls but the new alert can restrict his movement. In an interview with a Pakistani television channel, the Interior Minister said that ANP and PPP were the two political parties in most in danger.
