US, Zionist Plans Failed; Syrian Resistance Will Prevail: Khamenei
Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, addressed a large crowd in Tehran on Wednesday, asserting that the crisis in Syria is the result of a "joint American and Zionist plot." He clarified that while a neighboring country, presumably Turkey, had a clear role in the conflict, the primary conspirators and command centers are located in the United States and Israel. He stated, "We have evidence, and there is no room for doubt."
Khamenei emphasised the resilience of the resistance movement in the region, asserting that external pressure only strengthens it. He said, "The more pressure you apply, the stronger it becomes; the more crimes you commit, the more motivated it becomes. The more you fight it, the wider it spreads." He also made clear that the resistance will continue to grow across the region, despite efforts to weaken it.
The Supreme Leader dismissed claims from analysts who suggested that a weakened resistance front would lead to a weakened Iran. He stated firmly, "Those ignorant analysts who believe that if resistance weakens, Iran will weaken, are mistaken." Khamenei confidently declared that with the grace of God, Iran would grow even stronger.
He also pointed out the division among militant groups in Syria, stating that each group has its own agenda, whether it is territorial control or a foreign influence like the US seeking to solidify its foothold in the region. Ultimately, Khamenei stated that the "zealous Syrian youth" would evict both these foreign forces and their local allies from Syria.
The speech reflects Iran's firm stance on regional conflicts and its commitment to bolstering its influence in the Middle East despite foreign interventions.
