Mumbai: On the occasion of the festival of colours, several Bollywood celebrities wished their fans and friends a very happy Holi. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan extended his Holi greetings on Twitter, saying, "The festival of Holi... Wishing all colourful, happy and joyful years to come... May your lives be ever filled with joy."
The 71-year-old actor, however, said that he will abstain from any celebration because of some 'ill moments' in the past year and would spend time with his daughter, Shweta instead."Holi is on the 17th... Shweta's birthday and we shall be with her. So, I am not going to celebrate... there have been certain ill moments in the year and they still continue...when there is mourning in the family, festivals are put away, traditionally," Bachchan posted on his blog.
Actress Richa Chadda, who was last seen on the big screen in 'Ram-Leela', recalled how she celebrated Holi in her childhood. "So excited for Holi... Missing childhood Holi gubbare sessions, where unsuspecting strangers were targets... Giggle," Chadda posted.
Actress Shruti Haasan also tweeted her Holi greeting, "Happy Holi everyone." Music composer Shekhar Ravjiani hoped that the festival brings prosperity to everyone's life. "Happy Holi! May your lives always be filled with the colours of love, laughter and happiness." Actress Mallika Sherawat posted,"Have a colourful Holi my tweethearts."
This year's Holi made filmmaker Anand L Rai nostalgic as it reminded him of his film 'Raanjhanaa', that hit theatres last year. It starred Dhanush, Abhay Deol and Sonam Kapoor. "Last year on the day of Holi first look of 'Raanjhanaa' was revealed," Anand tweeted alongwith a poster of the film.
Actress Ameesha Patel said, "Wishing everyone a very very happy and safe holi... hope all your lives are filled with the majestic colours of the rainbow...lots of love." Comedian Sunil Grover, best known for his Gutthi act asked his fans to celebrate life this Holi. "Celebrate life! Happy holi to all," he posted.
Actress Tara Sharma Saluja wrote, "Thank you for all the lovely Holi messages and Happy Holi to you all too." Bengali beauty Paoli Dam, who made her Bollywood debut with 'Hate Story', tweeted," Happy Holi to all my friends... Holi haiiii...!!"
