Mumbai: It’s “time up” for jealousy and competition in Tinsel Town. With the younger brigade stepping in and taking the reigns of their filmy khandaan, it’s all about new camaraderie across the block or that’s what social media websites and the episodes of Koffee with Karan seemed to suggest.
With the IIFA ending on a high note — the green carpet was an affair to remember as stars like Ranbir, Deepika, Kangana and Aamir imitated Ellen DeGeneres’ famous Oscar selfie. Even actresses Bipasha Basu and Diya Mirza, Piggy Chops and Sonakshi Sinha posed together for pictures happily, while faithfully turning up for premieres and flattering tweets seem to continue too.
Who could miss the new friends on the block at the Queen premiere? It was all bear hugs and wide smiles for Kangana Ranaut, and her co-star Lisa Haydon at the screening of their film. Not to mention, Parineeti Chopra and Alia Bhatt’s chemistry which is getting along like a house on fire. Recently, Junior PC as she’s popularly known was seen wishing her pal the best for her upcoming releases on a social networking site. “You’re going to be the best actress and the biggest star ever!” tweeted Parineeti.
This goes onto to speak about the dedication that the new crop of actors have towards their work, and jealousy takes the backseat as they are too busy proving their mettle. With social media sites bringing fans closer to their heroes and their eyes on them all the time, the actors are behaving themselves. Be it Kiccha Sudeep and Darshan in Sandalwood or Ranveer and Arjun Kapoor in Bollywood, they may have releases lined up side-by-side, but they never fail to show their support for each other’s movies. Looks like the film fraternity is a family indeed!
