Never thought it would be such a hit: Ankit Tiwari
Ankit Tiwari hits back with another appreciated song Galliyan
Mumbai: Having shot to fame with Aashiqui 2, music director and singer Ankit Tiwari is once again ruling the charts with Galliyan, the song from the film Ek Villain. Touted to be the love anthem of the year, not only has Galliyan — male version — topped the charts but the unplugged version with Shraddha Kapoor is also being widely appreciated.
Ankit says, “We never thought that the song would be such a hit. The credit goes to Mohit Suri who understands my nature of work and gives enough freedom. For the unplugged version, it was his idea to have Shraddha sing the song with me. It was just an experiment but I am happy that it has turned out so well.”
Recently Ankit was in the headlines for allegedly raping his girlfriend after which there was a buzz that the Ek Villain producers were ignoring him. Laughing it off, Ankit says, “There is no truth to this. I had recently performed for a Ek Villain concert and the response was just superb. After the incident, many well-known people from the industry called me. My life has changed in a positive way and I am working round the clock. If people had issues, I wouldn’t have had almost 10 releases this year. But I don’t want to talk much about it since the matter is in court and I have full faith in the judiciary,” he adds.
Meanwhile the singer is busy with many projects. “I am singing for Ranbir Kapoor in Roy and Emraan Hashmi in X Men.” Ankit is also singing the hit song from Aashiqui 2, Sun Raha Hai Na Tu, in Telugu for the film’s remake in Tollywood.
