Kolkata: Extending the beautiful mom-son relationship of blockbuster 'Vicky Donor' in upcoming 'Open Tee Bioscope', director-producer Shoojit Sircar says it bears references to his own confessions to mother in adolescent days.

"Yes in 'Open Tee Bioscope' the two characters of different age groups, the mother and her teenaged son, share their secrets more as friends," Shoojit told PTI about the film, directed by friend Anindyo Chatterjee. "Me and everyone like us will relate to such confessions to our mom. Of first puff and the first kiss which a boy needs someone to share. And like in Vicky Donor, here too a mom, not much older than her son, turns up to be his true friend," the director said.

Shoojit says he would himself have directed a film, ridden with nostalgia about the time spent at spots like Baghbazar Ghat, if director Anindyo had not stepped in for 'Open Tee Bioscope' which becomes his own mirror of youth. 'Buno Haans' actor Sudpita Chakroborty, of 'Bariwali' fame by Rituparno Ghosh, says she is the young mother of teenaged boy Foara who shares with his mom every update in his life - from new girlfriend to the new hit Hindi film he had bunked class to catch up with friends.

Kahaani actor Rwitobroto Mukherjee, famous for the 'Running Hot Water' lines in the Bollywood cult, says, "In 'Open tee Bioscope' my character has a wonderful relationship with his mother who helps the boy unburden."

Open Tee Bioscope, co-produced by Shoojit Sircar and Ronnie Lahiri, will be released on January 16.
