Actor-turned-politician Naresh Kanodia invited to select India's entry for the Oscars
The actor received an invitation to be a part of the jury the the Film Federation of India
Mumbai: While the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) fiasco hasn’t seemed to die down, actor-turner-politician Naresh Kanodia has received an invitation from the Film Federation of India asking if he would like to be a part of their jury.
One of the duties of the committee includes watching films from all over the country to select India’s official entry to send to the Academy Awards. The actor has acted in over 63 Gujarati films.
This is the first time a Gujarati actor will be on the jury selecting India’s official entry for the Oscars. There were speculations that Kanodia would be heading the comittee, which caused an outrage on the internet, however those rumours turned out to be false. The comittee will be headed by veteran actor Amol Palekar.
