Reshmi Menon, who feels happy to be a part of the recently released Urumeen, says that she is on the lookout for roles with substance. The actress observes that audiences these days are welcoming different films, and hence actresses need to stay updated. She says, “I don’t want to be known as a heroine, but rather become an actor who ‘knows to act’. I love acting and the whole concept of transforming into a character.”
On the new-wave in Indian cinema, Reshmi opines, “Earlier, films were made only for entertainment. Very rarely it had something to do with reality. But people started getting exposed to world cinema, and started thinking why such movies are not made in India.”
Reshmi though feels that commercial films are her cup of tea, she believes movies shouldn’t test the intelligence of the audience. The actress, who has plans to foray into Mollywood, says she is eagerly waiting for good scripts. “There are many different films coming up these days in Malayalam. I don’t have many contacts in Mollywood, but I hope some director will cast me soon,” she says with a wink.
