CS calls for action plan on using AI in teaching

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Secretary KS Jawahar Reddy called upon the school and collegiate education authorities to come up with an action plan for teaching by using artificial intelligence and asked them for sending proposals to set up technical boards to work on strategies to implement it.

The CS held a review meeting on artificial intelligence-based teaching in the educational institutions in the state with the concerned officials here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, he underlined the importance of taking up capacity building among the students and their parents to implement it. He said that given the usage of AI in mobile apps to offer online courses, he said that both the students and their parents were showing a lot of interest in AI and felt the need to bring about more awareness of it among the stakeholders.

Higher education special chief secretary J. Shyamala Rao said that they were setting up centres of excellence in all universities in the state and also technical labs on AI so that it would help the universities to provide teaching with global standards.

State higher education council chairman Hemachandra Reddy they had already introduced AI courses in the universities and vowed efforts to take up capacity building further.

School education principal secretary Praveen Prakash gave a presentation on AI.
