Hyderabad student bags top spot in IB exam

Hyderabad: Sheen Gupta, a student of Indus International School Hyderabad (IISH), emerged as a world topper for securing a perfect score of 45/45 in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) examination.

She excelled in both the middle years programme and the diploma programme and earned a place in the University of Pennsylvania.

Speaking about her achievement, Sheen said, “I am filled with an overwhelming sense of accomplishment and gratitude. Being a World Topper was once a distant dream, and to have been one in both IB MYP and DP has taught me that no goal is too ambitious.”

Lt. General Arjun Ray, the founder-Managing Director & CEO of Indus Trust, accredited the exceptional results to the teachers for their efforts and the students for striving to achieve excellence.

The school's average score of 34.1 surpassed the global average of 30.24.

Along with the global topper, around 10 students scored above 40 out of 45.  

Ms Farida Fraz, the Principal of Indus International School Hyderabad, praised
the accomplishments of the 12th batch of IBDP and further assured the management’s support for the student’s ongoing endeavors.
