Decrease in pass percentage for Class XII and Class X as CBSE releases results

VIJAYAWADA: The Central Board of Secondary Education released the results of Classes XII and X for the academic session 2022-23 on Friday.

The pass percentage for Class XII students in 2021-22 was 92.71 per cent, meaning a decrease in the pass percentage this year by 5.38 per cent. In 2019, it was 87.33.

Gender-wise pass percentage in full subjects: Girls registered 90.68 in 2023 against 94.54 in 2022 and boys at 84.67 in 2023 against 91.25 in 2022. Girls outshined boys in their pass percentage by 6.01 in 2023.

The CBSE has not declared any merit list to avoid unhealthy competition among the students. It has not awarded the first, second and third divisions to the students. It will provide verification of marks, a facility for obtaining photocopies and re-evaluation and a separate notice on the date of start of this facility will be issued on May 16.

Students will be allowed to improve their performance in one subject in the supplementary examination. For all the students who are placed in the supplementary category and for those who wish to improve their performance, the supplementary exam will be held in July 2023 and dates will be announced soon.

 CBSE will conduct the 2024 exams from Feb. 15, 2024.

It would provide digital academic documents through DigiLoker wherein documents like mark-sheet cum certificates, migration certificates and skill certificates will be issued through its own digital academic repository ‘Parinam Manjusha’ soon after the declaration of the results.

As for Class X exams, the overall pass percentage in full subjects was registered at 93.12 in 2023 against 94.40 in 2022, showing a decrease in pass percentage by 1.28 per cent. Similarly, gender-wise, girls registered a pass percentage of 94.25 in 2023 against only  92.27 by boys in the same year, showing that girls performed better than boys by a higher 1.98 per cent.
