IPE must be conducted in an efficient and transparent manner: Sabitha Indra Reddy

HYDERABAD: Education minister P. Sabitha Indra Reddy reviewed arrangements for the Intermediate exams starting from Tuesday, with collegiate and technical education commissioner Navin Mittal, education secretary V. Karuna on Monday and via a video conference with district collectors.

The minister said that it is the responsibility of the management as well as the teachers and parents to ensure that the students are not put under any pressure.

She said arrangements had been made to hold the exams in 1,473 centres where 9,47,699 students would take the exams. She asked for a special action plan to be finalised to prevent any trouble for the students.

She said drinking water and ORS should be available at the centres. A nurse or ANM staff would be available at every centre.

RTC had been directed to arrange special buses for the students. A special control room was being set up to quickly sort out any issue that might arise on exam day.

Officials were instructed to ensure that there were no power cuts.

Officials said 1,473 chief superintendents would oversee the exams. At each of the districts, a panel headed by the collector and comprising the superintendent of police, officials and lecturers had been.

Seventy-five flying squads and 200 sitting squads have been formed to ensure there are no malpractices. Police and revenue officials were requested to close photocopy outlets near the centres during the exam hours of 9 am to 12 noon.

No student will write any examination sitting on the floor,  it was stated. Officials who fail to prevent this would face action.

 

General Instructions (issued by the Board)

Principals, college managements not to stop the issuing of hall tickets.

Candidates should verify the correctness of details on the hall tickets. Any discrepancy should be rectified by the respective college principal.

No candidate will be permitted without the BIE hall ticket.

Candidates should be present in the examination hall at 8 am, one hour before the exam.

Candidates reporting after 9 am will not be allowed into the centre.

The question paper will be provided at 9.00 am.

Candidates are not allowed to bring printed or written material, cell phones, pagers, calculators or electronic gadgets.

Criminal cases for copying, malpractice, and impersonation; students could be debarred.
