Jagan wants to provide jobs by end of graduation: Officer

Vijayawada: AP State College Education Commissioner Dr. Pola Bhaskar on Saturday said they are working towards making into reality Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s dream of eliminating unemployment in Andhra Pradesh by providing quality education and employment opportunities to students soon after they graduate.

In this context, Bhaskar said they want to provide employment opportunities to two to three lakh graduate students in the future. For the purpose, they will sign agreements with 50 reputed companies to create jobs every year.

He was speaking at the “Maha Job Mela” organised in Government Women’s College, Guntur, by the State Commissionerate of College Education and Society for Jawahar Knowledge Centre for students of 21 government colleges in Guntur, Prakasam and Nellore districts who have passed in the year 2022–23.

The commissioner said college education department is working with a unique perspective. Every student should take all necessary training for employment before the end of their studies and get settled in jobs through the job fairs organised by the government. He pointed out that they are offering training in eight subjects, including life skills and soft skills to students, so that they can sustain themselves financially in life.

Government Women’s College, Guntur, principal Dr. V. Rama Josna Kumari, Vidya Academic guiding officer Dr. Tulsi Masthanamma, State Jawahar Knowledge Centre chief coordinator Dr. Ram Gopal, principals of three district government colleges, coordinators, representatives of 30 different companies and students participated in the job mela programme.
