SC Gurukuls secure 75.17% results in SSCASE

VIJAYAWADA: Social welfare minister Merugu Nagarjuna said that students belonging to SC Gurukuls secured 75.17% percentage results in the SSC Advanced Supplementary Examinations (SSCASE), which were released on Friday.

With these results, the passing percentage of SC Gurukul students in class 10 has increased to 94.97%. He said that 13,734 students appeared for class 10 exams (April) across the state this year from social welfare Gurukuls, and 11,033 of them passed last April.

Nagarjuna said that in April, only 80.33% of the students at Gurkula passed, and many students failed in single subjects. He explained that under these circumstances, special tutors were assigned to these students and training camps were held for boys and girls so that they could pass their respective subjects.

He said that the Gurukul authorities conducted this training programme seriously and supervised it strictly. He said that as a result of this, they achieved the best results in the SSC Advanced Supplementary Examinations.

Nagarjuna revealed that 2674 students from their Gurukuls across the state wrote the SSC Advanced Supplementary Examinations, out of which 2010 passed with an average pass percentage of 75.17%. With these results, 13043 out of the total 13734 students who appeared for the 10th class exams from the Gurukuls have passed, and the 10th pass percentage has increased from 80.33% to 94.97%.

He explained that District-wise, Prakasam district ranked first with 98.26% percentage results, Srikakulam, Kadapa, and Anantapur districts ranked second with 97% percentage results, and East Godavari district ranked third with 95% percentage results.

Minister Nagarjuna felicitated Secretary of Gurukul Educational Institutions R. Pavana Murthy and other teachers for achieving the best results.
