IITs and AIIMS seem to be the top choices for EAMCET toppers
Aspirants await NEET results and JEE exams
Hyderabad: The top Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi, were the most desired colleges for toppers of the Eamcet. Those headed to medical colleges were awaiting their National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) results, while those in the engineering stream were preparing for their Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Advanced.
Saphal Lakshmi Pasupulati, who secured the third rank in the agriculture stream, said he knew he had to put in his best efforts for two years. Having joined college in the middle of a pandemic did break his spirit but only pushed him to pursue his dreamer, harder.
"It was a tough two years but I reminded myself why I'm doing it and got back. I did take breaks when I needed to and spent good time with friends," said he who wants to follow in his father's footsteps, an emergency physician.
Devagudi Guru Sasidhar Reddy, who secured the 6th rank in the agriculture stream, believed it was too early to celebrate as it was the NEET rank that would confirm his seat at the AIIMS. "I am fascinated by the mind and hope to take up neurology as my specialisation after my MBBS," said the 18-year-old. His father Malleshwar Reddy said he was celebrating every milestone that his son crossed, including his Intermediate score of 98.9 per cent.
Abhineet Majety, who came fourth in the engineering stream, had very little time to celebrate, busy as he was preparing for his JEE Advanced. "I want to crack it and secure a seat in one of the top IITs," said Majety, who also said he was a sports fan.
Kollabathula Pritham Siddharth, who came 10th in the agriculture stream, just like his peers, was awaiting is NEET results. "I'm hoping to take a well-deserved break after all the results come," he said.
Siddharth said he who looked to tennis, drawing, singing, 'Netflix'ing and IPL to calm him. His father Dr K. Harsha Vardhan is a neurologist and mother Dr K. Santhi a gynaecologist. “It is probably only natural for him to want to be a doctor," said Siddharth's mother Dr Santhi, laughing.
Eamcet engineering stream topper S. Anirudh hails from Visakhapatnam and his father Kajeswara Rao is a sub-inspector and mother Jhansi a homemaker. He said he was looking for the JEE Advanced for admission in IIT-Mumbai to study computer science.
Fifth ranker Ponnathota Pramod Reddy from Tadipatri in Anantapur district, whose father Srinivasulua Reddy is a government school teacher and mother Annapurna a homemaker, was also headed for the computer science course in IIT, Mumbai.
Vadde Shanvitha Reddy, from Adavidevulapalli mandal in Nalgonda district of Telangana, also wants to do computer science in IIT Mumbai and later be a civil servant, said her father Madhusudhan Reddy, a government school teacher.
Eighth ranker Boyina Sanja if Srikakulam, Nandyala’s Prince Branham Reddy who secured the ninth rank and Meesala Pranathi Sreeja, the 10th ranker from Vizianagaram, all were preparing for the IIT Advanced and wanted to do BTech computer science in IIT, Mumbai.
