Usha Rama Engineering College students launch high-altitude balloon

VIJAYAWADA: Students of Usha Rama College of Engineering and Technology on Sunday successfully launched NSLV-19, the High Altitude Balloon SAT, from the premises of their college at Telaprolu village in Krishna district on Sunday.

A team of 25 students led by mission director Akshay Sunkara completed the launch under the supervision of Space Kidz India, Chennai.
On the occasion, Andhra Pradesh State FiberNet chairman Dr. P. Gowtham Reddy, who was the chief guest, appreciated the launch as the first of its kind in Andhra Pradesh.

JNTU Kakinada director of evaluation Dr. B. Bala Krishna, who witnessed the launch as a guest of honour, said the field of space exploration is an emerging technology. He underlined that students will benefit by carrying out such projects.
Scientist RDI-DRDO Dr. P. Anil Kumar, who witnessed the BalloonSat Launch, said space exploration is rapidly growing and has immense potential in the future.
