Educational institutions resume classes after Dasara break
Many institutions reported a noticeable number of students absent
Hyderabad: After a two-week break to celebrate Dasara, schools and colleges across the state resumed classes on Thursday. However, the post-holiday lull seems to have left a significant impact, as a notable number of absentees marked the first day back to the classrooms.
The festive break and relaxation appear to have lingered a bit longer for some. Many institutions reported a noticeable number of absent students, who seem to still be in the holiday mood or have not returned to the city from their hometowns. Teachers and administrators are faced with the task of getting students back into the rhythm of studies after a prolonged break.
A junior college student Kanthi M. said that most of her friends are likely to join only on Monday and consider the weekend as a break too, since their mock tests are scheduled to begin on October 31. On the other hand, some institutions experienced a smoother transition back to regular classes.
Meanwhile, several degree colleges are open to external (end-semester) exams before moving to practicals and the next semester.
