 Hyderabad: The BM Birla Science Centre, in collaboration with the Indian Society of Remote Sensing (ISRS), Hyderabad Chapter, hosted the Hyderabad Science Quiz 2023-24 for the second consecutive year. The competition, aimed at nurturing scientific curiosity among the school students, culminated in a thrilling final round held at the science centre here on Wednesday.

The first prize was awarded to Surya, The Global School, earning them a cash reward of Rs 15,000. Sanghamitra School secured the second prize, receiving a cash prize of Rs 12,000. DAV Public School clinched the title of first runners-up, taking home Rs 9,000, while Vikas, The Concept School, emerged as the second runners-up, winning a cash prize of Rs 6,000.

Apart from the cash rewards, all winners were honoured with trophies and certificates in recognition of their performance.

The event witnessed guests including BM Birla Science Centre director K.G. Kumar, NRSC deputy director and ISRS chairman, Hyderabad Chapter, Dr K. Sreenivas, and ISRS secretary, Hyderabad Chapter, R. Suraj Reddy, who motivated the young participants to pursue their passion for science with fervour and dedication.

The quiz served as a platform for budding scientists to showcase their knowledge, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
