TGPSC Announces Group-I Mains Exam Schedule

Hyderabad: The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) on Wednesday released the schedule for the Group-I Mains Examination. The preliminary test was conducted on June 9. The Mains, a conventional/descriptive type examination under Notification No. 02/2024, will be held from October 21 to October 27 in Hyderabad, including the HMDA jurisdiction.

According to the official notice, candidates will have the option to answer in English, Telugu, or Urdu, except for the General English paper, which will be in English only. Once a medium is chosen, candidates must use it consistently across all six papers. Any deviation will result in disqualification, it said.

The General English paper, scheduled for October 21, is qualifying in nature and of Class X standard. The marks obtained it will not contribute to the overall ranking. Following this, on October 22, candidates will sit for Paper-I General Essay. The next day, on October 23, Paper-II History, Culture, and Geography will be conducted, followed by Paper-III Indian Society, Constitution, and Governance on October 24. Paper-IV Economy and Development will take place on October 25, and Paper-V Science and Technology and Data Interpretation on October 26. The examination will conclude on October 27 with Paper-VI Telangana Movement and State Formation.

Each paper will be three hours long, held from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm, with each carrying a maximum of 150 marks. Candidates must appear for all papers; absence in any will lead to disqualification.
