WARANGAL: Education principal secretary Burra Venkatesham on Saturday issued orders directing the Director General of vigilance and enforcement to conduct an enquiry into allegations against Kakatiya University Vice Chancellor Prof. Thatikonda Ramesh.

Members of the Association of Kakatiya University Teachers (AKUT) had lodged a complaint with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy alleging that Prof. Ramesh was indulging in unlawful retention of terminated faculty, illegal transfers, unfair academic appointments and approval of fake projects.

Meanwhile, welcoming the inquiry, Prof. Ramesh said that some members of the teaching faculty, who attempted to get promotions illegally, had lodged complaints against him.

He said that after taking charge as VC, he has been strengthening the institution and had achieved NAAC A+ grade for the varsity apart from hosting the Indian History Congress.

Many steps were taken for the betterment of students and employees apart from protecting university lands from land sharks. But some faculty members were intentionally trying to malign the image of the university, he added.
