Jhanvi Kapoor and Ishaan's Bollywood debut with Sairat remake is a no go

While Karan Johar has indeed resolved to launch Shahid Kapoor’s kid brother, Ishaan and Sridevi’s older daughter, Jhanvi, it’s improbable that the two will be seen together in the Hindi remake of Nagraj Manjule’s Marathi blockbuster Sairat.

The news comes despite speculative reports that mentioned the story. “Karan is not even thinking of who will star in the Hindi remake of Sairat. Whether he will make it as stark a realistic drama as the original in Marathi, or spruce it up and cast glamorous newcomer remains to be seen. So, there’s no question of casting anyone yet,” says a friend of the producer, who adds that we’re more likely to see the two star kids in separate films.

“Ishaan and Jhanvi don’t look compatible on screen. I think Karan would rather cast them separately in different films. Right now, it’s too early to say which way their launch film will go,” informs the source.

The two star kids, meanwhile, are undergoing rigorous training and neither seems inclined to follow in the footsteps of the stars in the family. “Ishaan and Jhanvi are too independent to seek advice from their brother and mother respectively. They will forge their own careers,” the source asserts.
