Mumbai: The ever graceful and poised Simi Garewal may be away from the limelight but is a very responsible citizen. The 71-year-old actress who is known for her films including Karz, Mera Naam Joker, among others, has raised a question on a social media platform about those who gets VIP treatments.

The actress who recently came across a situation in the airport, took to twitter to write, “On my flt arrival in Mumbai, an elderly lady asked if she cud pls take a ride in the parked buggy. The official said ‘No. It is for the Minister’s wife’. The poor lady walked all the way. We vote for them — so THEY can get VIP privileges that are denied to us voters. Is that fair?”

When prodded by Twitterattis about why she didn’t use her star power to remedy the situation, the veteran actress responded, “I did!! How could I stay silent? But the officials insisted ‘Minister’s wife is arriving. This is for her only’. I strongly objected but by then the old lady had gone..”

Reacting to her tweet another user wrote, “It’s shameful, that the needy are deprived and greedy is flooded. Let’s elect good humans, not select morons.”

Another Twitterati wrote, “Preamble to the Constitution.. We the people.. By the people... For the people... Not even 10% of politicians can explain the meaning... Alas..!!!”
