Harvey Weinstein reaches $44 million settlement
The producer was accused of sexual misconduct by many actresses and has been barred from working.
Producer Harvey Weinstein who is the main accused in the sexual harassment cases has reportedly reached a $44 million (`3,06,48,64,000) settlement with the accusers and creditors.
Reports suggest that the money will be used to settle several lawsuits against him. However, nothing has been finalised yet.
As per reports on the The Wall Street Journal says $30 million (`2,08,96,80,000) would be paid to the plaintiffs, with the remaining $14 million (`97,51,84,000) used to pay legal fees with funds coming from insurance policies.
The producer was accused almost a year and a half back of sexual misconduct, including actresses such as Ashley Judd, Paz de la Huerta and Lupita Nyong’o all accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct.
