Siddharth’s 20-year journey in cinema is a compelling narrative, culminating in his latest venture, Takkar. He has transformed his image with this film, assuming an action-packed avatar of an incensed young man.

Takkar, helmed by Karthik G. Krish, is billed as  an adrenaline-fueled thriller, with unexpected plot twists.

Speaking to DC, Siddharth shared insights into his journey. “While I started by assisting Mani Ratnam Sir, it was Shankar Sir who introduced me in a lead role in Boys (2003). Today, I am part of Takkar, directed by Karthik, who was once Shankar’s assistant,” he said.

“In Takkar, I portray Gunashekar, a rough and tough character with rural roots, who moves to Chennai to strike it rich. I was captivated by the film’s screenplay. It’s an out-and-out commercial film with all the elements suited for a theatrical release,” he said. Siddharth also revealed that the film has numerous action sequences, including an exhilarating car chase.

Divyansha Kaushik, playing the lead opposite Siddharth, brings to life the character of a bold girl hailing from an affluent family. The film explores the story of these two egoistic, temperamental characters, whose lives undergo a complete transformation when their paths cross.

Siddharth expressed his gratitude about reuniting with Shankar in Indian 2, saying, “Working again with the director who launched me, and acting alongside Kamal Haasan Sir, is an incomparable experience. I will always be thankful to Shankar Sir for calling me back.”

Despite his history of vocal social media engagement, Siddharth has chosen to be discreet,  acknowledging that controversial posts could lead to repercussions for his producers and director.

He concluded saying, “Cinema has given me everything. I work towards the goal of achieving something meaningful here.”
