Waltair Philips, who earlier played the younger version of actor Prabhu in Something Something, is making his debut as the lead hero in a film titled MeendumOru Kadhal Kathai which is a remake of Mollywood award-winning movie Thattathin Marayathu.

Isha Talwar who did the original, is reprising her role in the Tamil version and returns after a gap! Produced by Jayachandran and released by Thanu’s V Creations, director Jawahar Mithran  has made a few changes to suit the Tamil nativity. A romantic drama, MOKK is about a Hindu boy falling in love with a Muslim girl and the conflicts that arise out their inter-religion relationship. Speaking at the trailer and audio launch of the movie, Philips said, “I was waiting for a good script for a very long time. Thanu sir was sending several scripts to me. In fact, he remarked that he had sent more scripts to me than to Vijay sir. Finally, I told him I was interested in this romantic emotional story and he gave a go ahead immediately.” The young actor also thanked Mithran for giving him maximum freedom, despite being a newcomer.

Talking about his co-star Isha, he said, “Though we decided that Isha only could do justice to the role, we had apprehensions if she would act with a debut hero. The director auditioned several  upcoming actresses, but none of them could match Isha’s performance. We had no choice but to approach Isha, who was nice enough to accept to be part of the remake.” Isha also added that she has acted with the same verve, “This is my comeback movie in Tamil after Thillu Mullu in 2013!”
