RJ Balaji, who rose to fame with his popular radio show ‘Cross Talk’ and his spontaneous one-liners from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, currently has over five films in the pipeline. Recently, the first-look poster of director Rajesh’s Kadavul Irukan Kumaru was unveiled, and it has grabbed social media attention. Balaji is sharing the screen with GV Prakash in director Rajesh’s KIK. Speaking to DC, Balaji says, “KIK is a typical Rajesh film. It focuses on the life of GV Prakash and my character!”

Santhanam has been Rajesh’s favourite and is a constant part of his films usually — how does Balaji feel to have replaced him in this project? “I don’t want anyone to miss the presence of Santhanam, so it’s pressure on me,” he answers. So, will he get to dance alongside GV Prakash in the film? — “Yes, I do, but you will have to see it on screen and decide whether to call it a dance.”

As for Mani Ratnam’s Kaatru Veliyidai, Balaji calls the shooting as one of his lifetime experiences, as he got to spend time with Mani Ratnam. About his role — “I wouldn’t say that I don’t have many dialogues in the film, as the social media memes imply. I play an important role, so the dialogues are not minimal.” (grins)

The actor also is part of Devi(l) in which he plays Prabhu Deva’s friend, Mohan Raja’s untitled film with Sivakarthikeyan, Kavalai Vendam, Annanuku Jai, and a guest appearance in Parandhu Sella Vaa.
