She speaks with Bengaluru Chronicle about being the on-screen daughter-in-law, her journey so far and more.

“This is first my first teleserial, and I essay a full-fledged main character — a daughter-in-law who has a strong personality and the will to face any challenging situation. I have been performing freestyle dance at various platforms since school, which led me to TV programmes for kids, and finally anchoring a kids shows on a regular basis for Chintu TV, which is exclusively for children. Right now, I am pursuing my graduation in B.Com, and my interest in acting has gotten me this new role in a teleserial,” says Gagana.

She even acted as a child artist in the serial Kala Chakra. “I was keen about acting in serials, and had been attending auditions for several teleserials. Even in my first serial, I got selected through auditions which felt good, being recognised for the hard work and passion I have. From hosting kiddy shows to acting as a daughter-in-law was indeed a challenging switch, but with great support from technical teams, and experienced co-stars, I could pull it off,” the actress explains.

Gagana, who is the runner-up in the Miss Karnataka International 2016 beauty contest, says that her family has been very supportive of her acting aspirations. “I have been managing both studies and my other passions — dance and acting wholeheartedly. It has been an interesting journey, and I am enjoying all the attention from the audience and close friends. Many have already started identifying me with Shruthi’s character in the serial.”

The actress further expresses that it is director Darshith Bhat of the serial who helped her portray the character with ease. She hopes to take up further projects based on how the audience reacts to her debut, and dependant on the roles offered to her. Right now, she is the latest sose to join the bandwagon of soses on Kananda TV.
