Theatre experience came in handy, says Jia Sharma
Actress Jia Sharma talks about shootings for her forthcoming Telgu film, Edureetha, and how she is honing her language.
After making a brief appearance in Arjun Reddy, actress Jia sharma will be seen as the one of the leading ladies in the forthcoming Telugu film, Edureetha, directed by Balamurugan. The Mumbai actress will be seen as a college-goer in the breezy entertainer. “I am glad to be working on this project. The film has an undercurrent message that what eventually matters is the legacy and the impact you leave,” shares Jia, adding, “I play Varsha, a college-goer and my life transforms as the narrative progresses. Working for the film has been a great learning experience. Jia states that her earlier theatre experience came in handy for her part.
“I did not have much time to prepare for the role, and I directly came to the sets. Since I worked for some time in theatre, it had helped me deal with the nuances of acting. I believe this background polishes the actor’s skills,” explains the actress.
Jia is new to the language (Telugu), but she’s making all efforts to hone her skills. “I am trying to learn the meaning of my lines (dialogues) so that I can better express myself. My entire team is also helping me.”
