TSR Vows to Revive ANR National Award

T Subbirami Reddy assured the fans of Akkineni Nageshwar Rao that he would revive the ANR National Awards.

Businessman-turned-producer T Subbirami Reddy assured the fans of Akkineni Nageshwar Rao that he would revive the ANR National Awards to honour great talents in Indian cinema. "Legends like Lata Mangeshkar, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and S S Rajamouli were honoured with this award for their eminent work in their respective fields," says TSR at an event to honour thespian ANR today. "We will be reviving it with the support of Akkineni Nagarjuna and would be honouring the best of talent in Indian cinema once again," he added.

Actually, the ANR National Award was instituted by Akkineni International Foundation in the honour of Akkineni Nageswar Rao. The coveted award was given every year to recognize people for their lifetime achievements and for contributions to Indian cinema. The first award was received by legendary Bollywood actor Dev Anand.

Followed by Sridevi, Shyam Benegal, Hema Malini, K Balachander, Shabana Azmi and other legends.
