Seasoned star Nandamuri Balakrishna has reportedly declined to remake the Malayalam hit film ‘Aavesham’ since he dislikes roles with varied shades. Probably, he didn’t want to play a friendly gangster, the role played by Fahad Faasil. “He doesn’t like to do roles with grey and dark shades,’ says a source and adds, “He believes that a hero should always play inspiring roles who fights against evil doers and not to play evil himself,” he adds.

Earlier, he declined to essay Mohan Lal’s role in the Telugu remake of ‘Jilla’ since it was a dark role. “He wanted to do a film with Kalyan Ram and watched the film ‘Jilla’. However, he didn’t agree to reprise the role of Mohan Lal since it had negative shades. He asked Kalyan Ram to find another script for working together,” he adds.

The scion of Nandamui clan has been mostly doing anger-driven roles and tasting success with blockbusters like ‘Akhanda’ and ‘Veera Simha Reddy’ and would continue to play larger-than-life roles without compromising on his values. “He may sound old fashioned, yet he will stick to these norms and inspire his legion of fans to be do-gooders,” he concludes.
