Hyderabad: Former Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, who joined the Congress on Friday, faced criticism from the BRS with former minister G. Jagadish Reddy questioning his decision to leave the party. At a presser, Jagadish Reddy said Srinivas Reddy was always held in high esteem and the party always treated him with respect.

"What has KCR not done for Pocharam? We do not know with what expectations he joined the Congress. It is unfortunate that he left the BRS. KCR had several times praised Pocharam. Even after the Lok Sabha elections, Pocharam met with KCR and spent time with him giving courage and support," Jagadish Reddy said.
Meanwhile, BRS leaders led by MLA Balka Suman, tried to enter Srinivas' residence in Banjara Hills soon after the news of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy calling on the former Speaker began doing the rounds. The BRS MLA and other party leaders were arrested after they scuffled with police.
