Two Inter-State Thieves Arrested in Suryapet

Suryapet: Suryapet Town-II police arrested two inter-state thieves on Thursday, recovering two stolen cars and 16 motorcycles from their possession.
The accused were identified as Korapati Narsingh Rao (44) from Indiramma Nagar, Secunderabad, and Batha Prasad (39) from Bandaluppi, Andhra Pradesh.
Presenting the suspects at a media conference, superintendent of police Sunpreet Singh revealed their modus operandi.
The duo, who met through their real estate dealings, would hire cars and flee with them after intoxicating the driver.
They would stop at isolated locations, offer liquor to the driver, and steal the vehicle when he was incapacitated. They also used duplicate keys to steal motorcycles.
The arrests followed a complaint on December 16 from Marru Venkateshwarlu, who reported that two men stole his car during a trip from Suryapet to Vijayawada.
He had offered them a ride, but they sped away with his car when he stopped to buy sweets on Vijayawada’s outskirts.
