Anantapur: The case of murder of a realtor from Kadapa took a new turn as the state government has handed over the case to the CID for a detailed probe. The role of some YSRC leaders is suspected in the murder.

Sreenivasa Reddy was killed by his enemies in broad daylight on June 23, 2023 at Sandhya Circle in Kadapa district headquarters. He was coming from a fitness centre, when he was waylaid and murdered by a gang. This caused a sensation in Kadapa.

The police had registered a case against seven persons and arrested them. But, the deceased’s wife Mounika was skeptical. She suspected the role of some others, including top leaders of the YSRC, in the murder.

Sreenivasa Reddy was involved in private settlements of land disputes, for which he had support from a group of senior YSRC leaders in Kadapa.

Since the family members suspected the role of YSRC leaders in the murder, the new government thought it fit to hand over the case to the state CID for detailed investigations, sources said.
