Anantapur: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday granted bail to five individuals serving life imprisonment for their involvement in the 2005 murder of former minister Paritala Ravindra. The five convicts have been in prison, including time in judicial custody, for the past 18 years following their sentencing by the Anantapur district sessions court.

According to sources, the convicts are Panduga Narayana Reddy (A-3), Rekamaiah (A-4), Ranganaikulu (A-5), Vadde Konda (A-6), and Obi Reddy (A-8). The main accused, Maddelacheruvu Suri alias Gangula Suryanarayana Reddy, was killed by his close associate Bhanu, while another accused, Moddu Sreenu, was murdered by a co-prisoner in Anantapur district prison.
Paritala Ravindra was shot dead on January 24, 2005, at the Telugu Desam office at Ramanagar in Anantapur. The decades-long factional feud between the Paritala and Gangula families has claimed many lives on both sides, including family heads. This violent rivalry, which spanned over three decades, extended to Hyderabad and involved the use of explosives such as TV bombs, car bombs, and ice cream bombs, resulting in the deaths of innocent people.
After 18 years of imprisonment, the High Court granted bail to the five convicts in the Paritala Ravindra murder case.
