Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh police unearthed a Maoist explosives dump in a forest near Panaslabanda village under Sileru police station limits in Alluri Sitaramaraju district.

The police said the dump was planted by a banned CPI (Maoist) party senior cadre with an intention to carry out attacks on police teams engaged in combing operations. Landmines, explosives and revolutionary literature of CPI (Maoist) party against the government were identified in the dump.

The police said an investigation was going on procurement of explosives by Maoists and search operations were being carried out nearby places. Explosives and other materials seized in the dump include half a dozen steel carriage landmines, two directional mines, KEL company explosives, 150 meters electrical wire, and five kgs nails and iron nuts apart from Maoist literature.

District Superintendent of Police Tuhin Sinha, and Additional Superintendent of Police, Chinthapalli Sub- Division, Pratap Siva Kishore, said the remaining dumps hidden by the Maoist party in the district would be recovered soon. Since the Maoist party's ideology was outdated, all the tribal people should stay away from it and lead a peaceful life.

The tribals should also be careful about their conspiratorial plans and should not believe their manipulated words. All the young men and women should join the development of the Alluri tribal area, they added.
