VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Transport minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy has urged the State Government to sanction RS.156.60 crore for the completion of remaining works on the Handri Neeva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS) main canal at the Mandipalli Nagireddy Srinivasa Puram reservoir and the Adavi Palli reservoirs. He made the request during a representation to Irrigation minister Nimmala Ramanaidu at his Vijayawada camp office on Saturday.
Ramprasad Reddy emphasised that completing the canal works would benefit farmers and residents in Annamayya district by ensuring a steady water supply. He also highlighted the urgent need for repairs to minor irrigation ponds and resolving drinking water shortage in several mandals including the Rayachoti, Sambepalli, Galiveedu, Lakki Reddy Palli, and Rama Puram, and Chinnamandem under the Rayachoti constituency.
The minister urged the government to act promptly to address these critical issues and provide a permanent solution to the region's water woes.
