VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu made sensational comments about the Tirumala Srivaari Laddu on Wednesday.

Addressing the legislature party meeting of the TD-led alliance at CK Convention in Mangalagiri, Naidu alleged that animal fat was used, instead of ghee, in the Tirumala prasadam during the rule of the YSRC.

This harmed the sanctity of the Tirumala Venkateswara Swamy Temple, he said.

He accused the previous government of acting maliciously in Tirumala and alleged that substandard laddus and poor-quality annaprasadam were distributed to the devotees.

He claimed that pure ghee was being used in the preparation of Tirumala laddu after the TD-led alliance government came to power in AP.

The Chief Minister directed the MPs and MLAs of the alliance parties to design constituency-wise vision documents. "When we assumed charge, the treasury was empty. There were no funds even to pay salaries. Still we are moving ahead with confidence," he said.

Terming the central assistance as ‘oxygen’ to the state on ventilator, he stressed that AP can never progress without central assistance.

He said efforts were being made by his government to create 20 lakh jobs in the coming five years.

The Chief Minister said those who had committed crimes should be punished at any cost. "I will not leave those who had committed mistakes during the YSRC rule. Inquiries are on," he said.

Making it clear that the phase-one works of the Polavaram project will be completed in the next two years, he said there was no fund crunch for the Amaravathi works.
