Former Minister Ambati Rambabu Booked for Preventing Cops Perform Duty

Vijayawada: Former minister and YSRC senior leader Ambati Rambabu found himself in a strange situation when police filed a case against him, when he protested demanding that the TD and Jana Sena cadre be arrested for putting up objectionable posts against the YSRC.
Two days ago, Ambati, along with several YSRC leaders, reached the Pattabhipuram police station in Guntur district and sat on the steps carrying placards at the gate demanding that the police take action against the TD and Jana Sena cadre for their anti-YSRC posts on social media.
Then the police asked the former minister to come the next day as the police force was busy with bandobust duties of President Draupadi Murmu, who came to the state to take part in the first convocation of Mangalagiri AIIMS. However, with Ambati and his party leader remaining relentless, the police filed a case against them.
However, the police, instead of filing a case against the ruling party leaders had registered a case against Ambati and a few YSRC leaders for preventing the cops from performing their duties.
"Instead of filing a case following my complaint, they filed a case against me. This is unfair," Ambati said.
Responding to the development, Ambati said that he would not fault the cops for the case. It was filed at the behest of TD scion and minister Lokesh, he tweeted.
It is learnt that the police would issue notices to Rambabu and other leaders and summon them for inquiry.
