Oleti Sithamma, a 26-year-old resident of Harbourpet in Vakalapudi panchayat, was found murdered in her home late Saturday night. Her family alleges foul play, with suspicion falling on her husband, Oleti Narasimhamurthy.

According to Sarpavaram police, Sithamma's parents filed a complaint on Sunday, stating that gold ornaments worth `64,000 were missing from the scene. The couple has two young sons.
Investigators revealed that Narasimhamurthy reportedly had a year-long extramarital affair and lost a significant sum of money betting on recent elections. He allegedly pressured Sithamma to sell her jewellery to recoup his losses, leading to arguments in the days leading up to the incident. While Narasimhamurthy claims an unknown assailant committed the crime, Sithamma's family expresses strong doubts about his innocence. The Sarpavaram police have registered a case and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Sithamma's death.
