Pawan Kalyan inspects Greenko project in Kurnool district

Kurnool: Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan on Saturday arrived in Kurnool district to resolve the land dispute related to Greenko, the largest solar park and pump storage project located at Pinnapuram.

The Deputy CM inspected the 45-hectare site, which is currently in dispute between the Forest and Revenue departments. He first took an aerial view and later drove over the site, before holding a meeting with officials.

Pawan Kalyan pointed out that the company had acquired 365 hectares of forest land with the central government’s approval. In return, the company gave land worth ₹36 crore in Nellore to the government. In addition, it acquired 11.49 acres of land from local farmers.

The Deputy Chief Minister underlined that the company has strong international reputation. He pointed out that Greenko is investing ₹1.50 lakh crore in India, of which ₹35,000 crore will be invested in Andhra Pradesh. The project in AP spans over 2,800 acres in Kurnool district. It is expected to bring development and provide employment opportunities, both direct and indirect, to about 50,000 people. The project will turn into a tourist attraction in future.

Pawan Kalyan disclosed that ₹12,000 crore have already been invested in the project. An additional ₹10,000 crore investment is in the pipeline.

The Deputy CM maintained that the land dispute between the Revenue and Forest departments is small. But it has got escalated to the central government for resolution. He hoped the dispute will be resolved soon.
