Tirupati: A private travels bus driver abandoned 35 Ayyappa devotees in Tirupati during their return journey from Sabarimala. The devotees, who had planned to visit Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala on their way back, were left stranded at the Balaji Link Bus Stand on Thursday after their temple darshan was delayed.
Left in the lurch, the devotees contacted the Dial 100 police helpline for assistance. Acting swiftly, the police intercepted the bus at the Nellore Toll Gate. Following their intervention, the devotees engaged in discussions with the management of the private travels company.
The management apologised for the incident and assured strict action against the driver for his negligent behavior. They also arranged alternate transportation to ensure the stranded pilgrims could continue their journey.
