Minister Atchannaidu has assured farmers that the state government would purchase every grain damaged by rain.
In a significant announcement on National Farmers' Day, Minister Atchannaidu has assured farmers that the state government would purchase every grain damaged by rain.
He highlighted the struggles faced by farmers in recent years and emphasised that the alliance government would focus on farmer welfare.
Atchannaidu conveyed his best wishes to the farmers, noting that they had not received a support price for their crops during the last five years. He accused the previous government of leaving farmers with `1,600 crore in arrears, which the present government has cleared in the past six months.
He said there has been a substantial yield this year. Farmers can now sell their crops and receive payment within four hours. Additionally, plans are being made to help farmers increase their income with lower investments.
The minister criticised the previous government for failing to invest even a single rupee in agricultural mechanisation. He highlighted the government's encouragement for use of drones in agriculture fields. Roads are being constructed on a large scale in villages as part of a village festival initiative, he said.
Atchannaidu condemned “the cruel notion of hiring a gang to murder Nagaraju in Palasa,” and asserted that such behaviour was unprecedented in the district's history. He asked the police to investigate who was behind this incident.
Those who did wrong would not escape accountability, he said.
