Tirupati:Tirupati district superintendent of police (SP) L. Subbarayudu has ordered the suspension of three personnel—two constables and a home guard—over allegations of corruption and misconduct.

The first action was taken against two constables, D. Ramana (PC-165/NE) and K. Masthan (PC-1887/NE), who were found exploiting their positions at the Venkatagiri Police Station. Investigations revealed that they had been extorting illegal payments from complainants and failing to provide proper justice and relief.

Separately, home guard Chinna Thambi was suspended for collecting unauthorised payments from private travel operators and scrap dealers. He had previously faced similar allegations while stationed at the Sr City Police Station, which led to his transfer to Tirupati East Police Station, where he continued his unethical practices.

SP Subbarayudu stated that the police department has zero tolerance for behaviour that undermines public trust. He warned that this suspension is just the beginning, and further strict actions will be taken if necessary to uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism within the force.
