Vijayawada: Former TTD chairman Y.V. Subba Reddy, a YSRC MP, on Monday filed a public interest petition in the Supreme Court on Monday seeking an inquiry by a court-monitoring committee or by a retired judge of the apex court into the allegations on adulteration of the Srivari laddu prasadam.

The MP asked the apex court to give a direction to the AP government to prepare a report regarding the detailed forensics of the lab report and the source of procurement of the adulterated material.

Subba Reddy explained in detail the TTD procedure while accepting cow ghee. He said that unless the test reports match with the specifications mentioned in the tender document, the ghee would not be accepted.

He termed as incorrect the allegations made by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu that adulterated ghee with animal fat was used in preparation of the laddu prasadam at the TTD.

Subba Reddy said that Naidu’s allegations had deeply hurt the sentiments of millions of Hindu devotees and Hindu community and claimed that the action had caused irreparable damage to the sanctity, reputation and faith in the temple.

He also alleged that there was a discrepancy in the statements of the TTD and the Chief Minister and pointed out that the lab reports were obtained in July 2024 and the state government was silent for more than two months on the issue.
